Here at Cigar Geeks we encourage participation in all aspects of the site. You can earn points by posting to the Forums, participating in a Cigar Box Pass, submitting a new cigar to the Cigar Database, and reviewing a cigar in the Cigar Database.
From time to time you can expect to see prizes awarded to members who earn the most points over a specified period of time. See the current points contest running here.
Moderators, at their discretion, may rescind points from any members who we feel have artificially inflated their points by committing acts with the intention of purely increasing their point awards.
Points are awarded for your participation as follows:

| Forum Posts | 1 per forum post | | Box Pass Moderator | 5 per participant in a new Box Pass you start - minimum of 20 points. Points are awarded after the Box Pass has been completed. | | Box Pass Participant | 10 per Box Pass you participate in. Points are awarded after the Box Pass has been completed. Only members who actually participated in a Box Pass will receive the points. | | Cigar Database Posts | 5 per new Cigar submission to the Cigar database. Points are awarded only after a moderator has approved to Cigar entry. | | Cigar Database Reviews | 5 per Cigar review | | Cigar Database Photos | 5 per new Cigar Photo submission to the Cigar database. | | Referred Members | 10 per Referred Member.
