My Storage Issues Finally Resolved!

Over many years of the cigar hobby I have accumulated and maintain 20+/- humidors at any one time.   When the last 3 "humidors" added in 2012 were really 3 tuppedors, my WIFE said she had enough and told me it was getting too cluttered and I MUST do something about it.  She insisted that I buy a cabinet. Gentlemen, I am one lucky man to have a wife like that!  She even helped me uncrate it and carry it in the house when it arrived via a freight truck.  :dancing:

It is the Montegue 'End Table' Cabinet Humidor, and holds up to 1,500 cigars.  It's 24"x26"x30".  The picture doesn't do it justice:  This thing is huge!  I wanted one that stored boxes in the dark, not one with glass, so this model works well for my needs.  It has some quality locks and is really a fine piece of furniture.  You wouldn't know what's inside unless you opened it!

I've had it a week now and I am happy to report that I have been able to get the humidity to maintain at 65% using only KL and no active humidification system.  Yes, I know I'm a KL advocate, but I'm also a convert and this stuff really works, even on a larger cabinet like this.  (For an interior size of 8.5 cubic feet, I used about 3 lbs of KL.)

So last night I loaded 250 cigars into it, and the humidity was still 65% tonight, so I just loaded another 250 into it.  I'm going to take this slowly so as to avoid any major fluctuations.  Below is some pictures of the set-up. I'll try to post more pics after its full.

If anyone has questions on setting something like this up with KL, please feel free to PM me.

Of course the resolution is only temporary.

I've had one for over a year now, and am very happy with it.  Unfortunately about the most cigars I can get into it is around 1,000.

Enjoy it Bruce.

Maybe it's like becoming one with the cigar. You lose yourself in it, everything fades away, your worries, your problems, your thoughts. They fade into the smoke, and the cigar and you are at peace. ~Raul Julia

Lemme know if you plan to sell any of your other humis. I could use a little more space.

Maybe he can buy a few more tuperadors and his wife will force him to get another one.
