I'm not a pipe smoker, but I saw this today and thought about everybody here. What does everybody think about an aluminum travel pipe? Would you use it?

that doesn't look like it's for tobacco to me :smoker:

You couldn't put much tobacco in that.

In their article they state about smoking, "it litters the streets of any city,"  and this pipe will solve that.  I don't recall ever seeing pipe tobacco littering up the streets.  Cigarette butts yes, but this pipe isn't going to solve that.

$70.  I don't think I'd pick this up for $7.

Reminds me of some of the contraptions the teenagers put together out of plumbing fittings when I worked at an ACE hardware store years ago. They made a mess in that section and were all the time stealing the brass screens out of faucets. Sneaky little bastids too!

What kind of editor allows an article about a smoking product to start out with this line:

"Smoking is awful—it stinks, it screws up your lungs and it litters the streets of any city."

Especially when he's is writing about pipes?  I imagine that is someone from the magazine doing the video as well.  Again what kind of pipe video doesn't actually show the pipe in use?  You know smoking it?  Bad journalism all around and a weird looking pipe.  If I was going to get a travel pipe, I think it would be something like this one:

The stem folds over so it curls around in a nice ball.  I don't know how well it smokes though.  Or I guess I could start carrying a man-purse.

Why do you need a special pipe for travel? They're not that big in the first place, not gonna take up alot of room....

Looks stupid to me and a waste of money.

Now this is much cooler and more affective. "The Briar Cigar".

I don't know if I would spend $140 on it, but it's pretty cool.
