They have a surprisingly decent (albeit small) selection of brand name quality pipes and tobaccos  but their prices are average and items can often be found for at least a little less elsewhere.  However, prices and selection are good enough to pick up a corn cob and/ or a tin or two once in a while when able to take advantage of the CI free shipping ... most other on line pipe & tobacco vendors I've seen offer free shipping only on purchases of $100 or more.

I think it's a good business decision on there part.

BigTA

I have been thinking of getting back in to pipes and seeing them on CI is making me week.

I think it's pretty cool.  Glad that I'll be able to get my Escudo at the same place where I get my MOW PA.

Now if only they'd start carrying McClelland and Pease...

Funny you should mention Escudo ... with free shipping for Father's Day ending today and CI's prices being competitive (a few cents more or less than my other sources) I decided to snag some tins for the cellar, one or two of each -- Escudo, Peterson University Flake, Davidoff Flake Medallions, Erinmore Flake.

Sweet deal!  University Flake is another of my favorites.  How are those Davidoff Medallions?  I've always wondered about them.

It's been years since I've had the Davidoff Flake Medallions, but IIRC, it's a little milder and softer than Escudo, sort of like Peter Stokkebye Luxury Bullseye Flake, but better quality (not casting aspersions on Bullseye -- a damned good bulk blend).

I haven't had a chance to check out there selection and prices, but I do agree that this is a good move for them.

Oh yeah, P.S. Luxury Bullseye Flake is a good one.  I smoke it pretty often.  I really like their bulk Navy Flake as well.  I'll have to check out the Davidoff Medallions, sounds like they'd be right up my alley.

I'm of the opinion that there may well be no better value than that P.S. Navy Flake...

Seriously.  I've never gone completely crazy and gotten the 2 pound box, but I very well may at some point considering how little it costs relative to how many tasty smokes it would provide.

I put away a full box back in April.

Thanks Les, that is what I needed. I can't afford more pipe stuff right now anyway, the wife really would kill me this time I think, LOL.
