There was some talk on a few another threads about various brand alternatives.  tnt956 said JR had some good alts - which I agree as i've had a few.  I think there some mentioning of another company that didn't have very good alts (maybe Thompson's - i couldn't find the thread again.)  I think Anthony mentioned Famous was decent???  

So I decided to start a new thread on this topic.  I'm thinking about finding some good alts for "everyday" smokes.  Any suggestions?  Anything I should definitely stay away from?

I like some of the Famous Smokes house brand line of smokes.  The Nic 3000 are pretty good.  These are not actually alternatives - just good cheap smokes.

The one's from JRs I have had that are decent are the Punch, Excalibur (very good imo) and the Limitada Edicion alternatives.

The JR Limitada Edicion alternatives are the only ones I have tried.  As mentioned, I do highly recommend them!  I just hope they are consistent.

Some friends have been buying them from tntcigar and I recently had a Padron alternative - it was fantastic.  They also said the Joya De Nicaraguas are just as good.  I just ordered a 5 pack of each and i'll let you know how they are.
