Due to a busy work schedule, I haven't been smoking many cigars the last year or two. Was digging in one of my humis today and it just so happens the cigar iI was going to smoke (Alec Bradley Tempus) had a small spot of mold on it. This was in my 'singles' humidor, and I didn't find mold on any other cigars (all the others had cello on them). There was a bit of mold on the tray as well, so I've wiped it down with some isopropal alcohol and will wipe it again tomorrow, let it dry, and toss it back in the humidor. I checked the box of the rest of the Tempus cigars (in a different humi), all seem to be doing fine for going on 4 years old. I haven't been in my humis and coolerdors much lately, aside from rehydrating stuff. This is the first time I've found mold on any of my stuff, so hopefully it was just due to a lack of me smoking and thus a lack of me opening up the humis for fresh air.
I guess I'll have to up my cigar smoking over the next few weeks to 'get rid' of the other cigars in that humi so I can thoroughly clean with alcohol and rehydrate. Later this week I'll go through the rest of the coolerdors checking for mold, and will be a good time to re-inventory the stock.
I wiped off the mold from the Tempus (none was seen on the foot), and its smoking well so far
Note to self, smoke more cigars!
