Desperate need of guidance

Hello , I would like to introduce myself as a beginner at this. I´ve just realized how much I enjoy cigars.
A friend of mine lives in Nicaragua and she just gave me 30 cigars of the brand Joya de Esteli.
So now I´ve got a few problems:

No 1: I´ve been all over the internet searching these to get more aquainted with my cigars and I can´t find them- I need som guidance in taste and what it is that I´m holding.

No 2: I haven´t tried that many different ones, I like smooth and silky. What should I stay away from?

No 3: I´d like to have your help to rate the ones I have- if anyone has smoked them. I couldn´t find them in the reviews (maybe I don´t know what it is I´m supposed to look for!)

So, a girl from Sweden would love your help- I´m gonna post some pictures.
I know they´re from Nicaragua, just curious if someone got something interesting to say about them.

Thank You!
/Mickey

:welcome: from the US. The 5 Vegas is a decent smoke but not super smooth IMO. Can't help you with the others, sorry. The best way to find out about them is to lite them up :smoker:

I would say maybe some local cigars from there?  Nothing I am familiar with....but welcome to the site, enjoy!

Welcome to CG from Montreal.

The Joya de Esteli are cigars sold only in local markets in Nicaragua and have no international recognition or distribution as far as I could find.  A little search in Google will tell you some about them. I did find a few reviews, a few articles relating to law suits JDN would have filed against them. The band is very similar and the name as well but according to my research, there are no relations whatsoever.

Well, I´m going to try them all- maybe order the official brand to get the real experience! I read on their official site that the real Joya de Esteli was smoked in the White House in the ´60s!  Thank you guys!

Mojo66

If you mean Joya De Nicaragua, they could have been smoked at the white house as the Brand exists since 1968. First brand established in Nicaragua. They make delicious cigars but not on the mild side. Not a good beginner cigar if you ask me but one you will learn to enjoy as time passes and you get used to more powerful, stronger cigars.

Stick around Micaela, you will like it here. Not enough Swedes here anyway.

Yes, it's a pineapple hat.  No, you can't put your cigar out in it.

Here is a little info. They are cigars that are made to be sold only in Nicaragua I believe.

Looks like it's a locally sold cigar brand and not really distributed internationally.  Let us know how they are!

Welcome from the states. Looks like you got some help. Now put a match to them.
I am not concerned about what you think as I can tell you don't do it often.

Thank you all so much, yes it´s time to smoke them! =) Definetly a local brand, looks like a rip off to joya de nicaragua wich makes me curious. A little time in the humidor and then I´ll TRY to describe them in a review.
Must say that I´m impressed that so many replied! Thank you!
