I didn't realize the Republicans had come out in support of tobacco. kind of surprising.
Actually like so many other stories in the media, there is enough truth in this story to make it dangerous.
Certainly the major players in roll your own tobacco (Top, Bugler, Drum & other Dutch brands) simply added in the tax and increased the price of the product.
Others have left the US market (Charles Fairmorn, Holburn)
Some are indeed trying the "call it pipe baccy" route, but the products i have seen have been re-formulated and are manufactured in a different style not well suited to cigarettes.
