:happybday::happybday::happybday::happybday::happybday::happybday::happybday::happybday::happybday::happybday::happybday::happybday::happybday:

Welcome to the inaugural Birthday Bomb Exchange!  This will be a year long exchange to give all you uber-generous regularly attending geeks a chance to nail another geek with a killer bomb for their birthday.  Gone are the days of simply posting a :happybday: to help a geek celebrate their birthday, it's time to do birthdays geek style!

How it will work:

I will arrange who bombs who such that there's a PIF element to it.  You will be bombing a person whose birthday comes before yours, then a person whose birthday is after you will bomb you.  So first you bomb, then you get bombed (no, not that kind of bombed!).  I will not be publishing the sequence but will PM each participant who they are to bomb and when, so you won't know exactly who is hitting you though you can try to speculate if you want.

Who can participate:

You must meet all of the following:  minimum of 500 posts, minimum membership duration of at least 6 months, a spotless feedback record (PM me if you feel an exception should be made for a particular feedback issue), and I have to recognize you as a regular part of the active forum community that I'm comfortable will not flake on this when your turn comes around.  And please consider the fact that this will run for a year so if your birthday is in December and you know you'll be out of the country for 3 months around then, please don't sign up.  If something comes up when it's your turn just be proactive in communicating and we'll figure something out.

How do I sign up:

I will take sign-ups from now through 12 PM PST Sunday March 6th (if you already expressed interest I am considering you as signed up, see your names listed below).  You can sign up on this thread or in a PM to me.  Also, please PM me your birthday month and day (unless you are among those that I have listed below as already signed up, I have yours figured out).  DO NOT POST YOUR BIRTHDAY ON THIS THREAD, I'd like to keep it a little mysterious for everyone, part of the fun.

What needs to be in the bomb:

Cigars of course!  The bomb should have a minimum total value of $25 as customarily determined around these parts (CI box prices, etc), should contain at least 2 cigars, and each cigar should have at least a 3.5 star rating (so no pineapple white owls...unless it's a gag that is thrown in over and above the $25 bomb).  There's no minimum or maximum value on each cigar, just make sure they're not dog rockets.  There are no upper limits on the bomb value or size, hit that birthday boy or girl as hard as you please!  I also think it'd be fun to designate a particular birthday cigar similar to the new year smoke in the secret santa exchange, but it's not required.  If you want to include something other than cigars in your bomb you're welcome to do so, just please meet the $25 value in cigars first and foremost.

When will it start:

Monday March 7th it is on!  Yes Kent, you'll be the first to get hit! :thumbsup:

When will it end:

It ends on the last birthday among the participants, Kent will receive the first bomb and send the last one.

Sure.  Count me in.  I haven't been keeping up well with the best stock as I used to, but I could pull something together.

I'm going to modify the deadline to sign up to 12 pm PST on Sunday March 7th.  That still gives you east coasters until 3pm that day.  This will allow me to set a final order and get our first bombers lined up before Monday, 2 birthday bombs need to hit next week!   :dancing:
