He didn't say it was plume.  He said it was plum.

Mold from the 3 week old plum in his refrigerator vegetable drawer where he also keeps his cigars.   Oops, sorry, I think he calls his refrigerator a "coolidor".  My bad!

Yep plume is going to be even and not splotchy. If you could look close it's probably fuzzy too, plume is more like a dust.

I mean what decent shop spells cigars with a "z"? that should be the first tipoff.  and I'm sure davidoff appreciates being tagged on this...

I've seen plume like that on month old cheese in the fridge.

Unfortunately, it is far to common to walk into a cigar shop and find a substantial portion with mold, as they either don't know how or don't care to check all areas of a walk-in for humidity and don't rotate stock.

It really burns me when they try and convince you mold is plume so you will buy it.  But this nitwit is smoking it, not even trying to cheat somebody just to sell one.  Shows you how versed he is in his craft.  What a joke.

I have been to this shop and sat and talked to this guy for a quite while over a cigar. He is first generation Cuban-American, his dad was in the biz in Cuba. He really seemed to know his stuff.  I won't defend his comment but you don't become a Davidoff dealer without not knowing something, he has a great shop.

I will withhold judgment here.  I would be interested in seeing his reply to Vroomp

I've even experienced that at Casa Fuente.  The dufuss working there basically told us that he was the expert and that Rebecca and I didn't know what we were talking about.

I just told the guy on twitter that its mold. He and a few other guys replied, insisting that it's plume, and plenty of it! Do people know nothing about cigars?

mold being plume is a hard thing to change in the minds of some folks. i good friend of mine brought over a cigar in a baggie and was really proud of his cigar with plume on it. sucked to be the dick who told him it was mold. if i have a bugger in my nose i want to know and a friend would tell me....
