Well well well, yesterday was my first day back to work after being on vacation last week. Needless to say, I had a crappy day. I was used and abused like a rented mule. Rain on the way home made for brutal traffic just to cap things off. SWEET!
Things got better when I got home, though. MUCH better. Thanks to the newfound inspiration that overcame Dan (danb6177), I came home to an unexpected box on my entry table. Usually when I'm expecting a package, I call my wife to bring it in right away, so she was surprised I didn't call her about this one. That's because I didn't know it was coming, I WAS BOMBED!!!!
This completely made my day, and as a newbie to the site it was a tremendous welcome that made me feel like part of the group. I can tell from my short time here that you are all really good people (no matter what everyone else says) and that's a beautiful thing. My first bombing, what a great feeling. It reminded me of that time in high school with my first girlfr- ah, nevermind
So Dan, thank you again my friend This was awesome!!
Sooo its pretty much been a s**t week for me. Pulling 30 + hour shifts at the plant, living with no power no air no electricity only to return to a plant with exactly the same. I cannot think of many weeks in my life as bad since Ive been married (20 years). Luckily my family didnt have to endure this but I did and doing the "man thing" I tried not to complain too much. But its over now and things are back to normal. Got my internet back today. Yesterday tho I got a really nice surprise from a fantastic geek who I enjoy hanging with on the herfs. I have been enjoying pipes for the last week and had ordered a few tobaccos and a new pipe and it arrived after a stall in the mail due to irma. As I was opening this up my son brought me a package that was not in the mailbox but at the door. I was clueless what it could be but after seeing the name of the sender Got happy real quick.
Thanx Jeff (captmorgan) for such a generous and very well timed bomb. You made my day brother and I appreciate all the new blends I can try out with my new found hobby. Jeff is a great geek. a 5r of nice sticks that included a few ive been dying to try and a pipe and a czech tool and cleaners and some sweet tobaccos that will keep me busy for a bit. Thanx a million brother!
Glad to help make a crappy week a little better. In all the Irma mess, I actually missed the part where you finally got a pipe. Oh well, it never hurts to have more than one on hand! Hope you enjoy, and hope things continue to get better!
Took a page out of your book, Kent. Pipe tobacco assortment as well as cigars. (I wrapped the hell out of those cigars though, cause that tobacco makes EVERYTHING smell, lol.) But it was a nice excuse for me to try some new stuff. Just ordered a bunch of ounces and split em.
