I keep reading about Boveda packs on this forum, does anyone have experience with Drymistat tubes?

Yes and they work fine and will do what they need to for the most part. The advantage of using Boveda verses Drymistat tubes is Boveda will hold a specific RH were as the tubes can give some variation between fully charged and there dryer state. I use jars instead of tubes but basically the same thing but I use them in conjunction with Boveda packs to keep a level RH. Just my preference. I am sure others will share their opinions as well.
I am not concerned about what you think as I can tell you don't do it often.

I used to be a people person, but then people ruined that for me.

Exactly what Neal said, a drymistat by itself didn't seem to get the job done for me, but that with a boveda helps the boveda last longer in my opinion.
