Ken Kelley

I've been gone for a while for various reasons but if you'll have me I'd like to come back for a visit or two. Here's whats been happening in the years I was gone...

My mother unexpectedly died in May 2016. My dad was experiencing the beginnings of dementia at the time so I had to handle all the details of her death and look after him as well. I arranged for him to enter an assisted living facility and he continued to decline to the point I had to move him to a nursing home a few months later. He went through series of increasingly severe medical episodes and wound up in ICU with pneumonia in November 2016. He was discharged from the hospital back to the nursing home but never did rally, finally dying in mid-December. Again, I had to handle all the details of his death and then took care of probate and all that legal stuff. Took forever to get all that wrapped up.

Sadly, I dropped the ball on a member sponsored Geek Critique in November 2016 and I sincerely apologize for that neglect of duty.

Then I went through some medical stuff myself and wound up having some rather serious abdominal surgery that left me flat on my back for a few months. Fun, fun, fun.

I did try to sign onto Geeks in that era but for some reason I couldn't get to the site. Since it had been a while since I tried I thought maybe it had gone away so it just didn't occur to me to try to find it again. However, out of the clear blue I got an invitation to join a box pass a day or so ago. Shocked me silly! Unfortunately I had to decline because of our travel plans.

Sooo...I found the Geeks again and have spent a day or so just lurking and looking around. I see some old, familiar names still active and things look pretty much like they did when I last shared a post on this forum. I still keep up with a group of us old timers on Facebook.

So that's what happened for whatever it's worth.

Hi, Ken!  I was just thinking about you last night as I plucked a Padron 1964 out of the pretty hand made humidor you made me years ago.

Good to see you back.  Hope that you and your wife are both doing well!

Welcome back Ken!  I suspect that was me that sent the invite for the box pass. No worries I'll be sure to ping you on the next one. I'm glad you took the time to post a catch up. Easy to see why you're missed around here.

Good to see you around Ken. You have been missed around here.
I am not concerned about what you think as I can tell you don't do it often.
