Just an odd little thing I picked up a few years ago and love to do when I smoke a pipe, grapevine says the English used to do this back in the 1800s.

Get a tin of nasal snuff (I recommend the mentholated snuff, or at least English snuff, the German snuff doesn't seem to work.)  Drop a pinch into your burning pipe and it opens the whole thing up.  Cools the whole smoking experience down.  The flavor only lasts a couple of puffs per pinch but it's worth a shot.  I don't use the snuff when I smoke a pipe all the time, but once in a while it's a nice change of pace.

I haven't seen snuff anywhere for years. Sounds like it would be interesting to try.

:word: It is interesting, I'll try to remember to see if I can find some more info on it in a google search.
