Meet Al Argenti at 82nd Ave Tobacco TONIGHT from 4pm - 9pm.

Due to the great response, we've extended the hours of this event so everyone has the opportunity to come meet the legendary Al Argenti of Berger & Argenti cigars and take advantage of some incredible deals. Albert Argenti is the Co-founder and Vice President of Berger and Argenti, a boutique cigar company that features several lines of fine premium cigars. The Berger in Berger and Argenti is none other than Kiki Berger of Cuban Crafters. Those of you who have been part of the Portland Cigar Club for awhile may remember some of the Berger & Argenti cigars that we featured including the Exile Wired, Clasico, and the Entubar.

As many of you know, the Clasico was chosen by the Robb Report as the 'Best of the Best of 2010.' Clasico is comprised of meticulously blended bold and deeply aged Nicaraguan filler tobaccos cultivated at Tabacalera Esteli, its rich farmland widely considered by cigar makers as among the finest in Nicaragua for filler tobaccos. The Cuban seed Nicaraguan fillers are sheathed in a sumptuous Nicaraguan Corojo binder and skillfully enveloped in a stalk-cut, molasses-colored Ecuadorian Connecticut seed 'Desflorado' wrapper; exhibiting a well-balanced, full-bodied character bursting with a confluence of sweet and spicy flavors. It offers exceptional value through its impeccable craftsmanship. This cigar is hecho a mano totalmente - completely crafted by hand - without aid of any mechanical devices and fashioned with a mounted, triple cap at the head of each cigar.  

The company's flagship cigar is the Entubar, a cigar that is rolled in a very special way, which takes a lot of extra time, effort and skill. Each individual filler leaf is rolled into itself before being combined to form the bunch. This method not only creates a very smooth draw, but also lets the blender customize the position of individual filler leaves within the blend. As can be seen from the picture, a scroll of filler leaf extends out from the foot of the cigar, to illustrate that this cigar was specially made. The label on the foot of the cigar is an advisory to thoroughly toast the entire foot of the cigar (not just the protruding scroll) before smoking.

Entubar was released last year, but the company just introduced its Entubar Box Pressed Quad Maduro at the IPCPR Trade Show during August 2010. These cigars will be available in four sizes, and are made with a blend of Dominican and Nicaraguan filler tobaccos, Nicaraguan binders, and Nicaragua Cuban-seed Maduro sun-grown wrappers that were aged in oak barrels since 2002.
