Dunhill tobacco, will it ever make it to the U.S.

Dunhill blends have been absent from the U.S. market for two years, reportedly CAO has signed a distribution deal and yet the product (re)launch has been postponed three times already!

I've got an order in for $200.00 with my tobacconist. I'm just itching to give My hard earned dollars to Dunhill but it seems like they don't want it!

Are you referring to pipe tobacco or their cigars?

Sounds interesting, but probably a little too expensive for me.

I didn't realize Dunhill wasn't distributed in the U.S. - are you talking about Royal Yacht, Mixture 965, Night Cap, etc.?  They are still being sold at one of my local shops...

A number of shops still have some Dunhill blends in stock, especially the larger ones.  Some of those are also big on mail order, such as this one:

But hey, the word is that retailers who've ordered Dunhill pipe tobaccos should be starting to receive product by the end of October (but the distributor also stresses that the exact date is not known).

I have never smoked a bowl of Dunhill.  Thanks for the heads up guys. Might be a nice treat for when Dad comes to visit.

You can order from Germany, but shipping is way expensive!

Most of the larger shops such as Iwan Ries no longer have tins in stock, they just haven't removed Dunhill from their website :-(

Strange -- I've seen some myself (not all varieties of course) not that long ago.  Oh well.

ROTHNH, don't know where you live, but if the Dunhill you've seen is anywhere around the Philly area I would be more than happy to take said tobacco of their hands!

Not anywhere near where I live ... IIRC, it was in Boston.

If you've searched the internet and actually called all the vendors in this country who say they "carry" Dunhill --- but every single one is out of stock, I suppose you will have to bug you local vendor until they replenish their supply and/or contact the distributor.  Sorry and good luck.

Hmmm I just finished off Dunhill Standard mixture I bought a few weeks ago?

This is a pretty old thread.  I'm pretty sure it's available locally now.

smokingpipes.com has 9 different tins of Dunhill Right Now ON SALE!!! :dancing:

As Rich said, very old thread -- IIRC, the distributor, CAO, was having issues and bigger fish to fry, thus the dry spell here -- all better now though.

Well, my B&M did get some Dunhill in a few months ago. Ten tins of Standard Mixture, problem is, nobody told me about it, I just happened to see the tins one day while in the store, bought five tins and promptly ordered five tins of Nightcap!

I'm not holding my breath though, if they don't want my money I wont push it on them. I try to support my local B&M but I put my first order in sometime last October/November And since then   .

What Mark said just above this post.

If one can get their hands out from sitting on them long enough to place an order with JR Cigars, a total shipping charge of $4.50 gets them as many tins of Dunhill pipe tobacco as they want.  JR's shipping doubles after the current promotion ends (end of May IIRC).

CALL THEM -- don't order on line -- 1-800-JR-CIGAR ... that way, you'll be able to verify which of the Dunhill pipe tobaccos they currently have in stock, order as many as you want from that list and, unless you live in North Carolina (or Maryland), get it all shipped to you tax free for $4.50.

BTW, JR's latest catalog (2011 #3) lists six 50g tin Dunhill varieties, all priced $9.95 or $10.95.
