I got this from the GF for Christmas. :dancing: She did a great job!

I love the looks of it and am looking forward to breaking it in over the weekend.

That's a great looking pipe.  Nice looking tobacco stash, too. :shades:

Beautiful wood (briar?)!  My first thought when I see a grain pattern and color like that is "Wow!  What a knife handle I could turn that into (or pistol grips)!"

That is a nice gift.    :shades:   I like the pipes that dip down so that they are not in your line of site.  Your tobacco selection looks as impressive as, well, your other tobacco selection.

I feel the same way about bent pipes, but they are harder to clean than straight pipes.

Thanks everyone! I am so excited, I haven't had a new pipe for about 4 years.

She told me I had too many cigars but not enough pipes.

This is my first Nording pipe and I can tell it will be an excellent smoker.

Wow, that's a great looking pipe!!  Can't quite make out the inscription on the neck ... who's the manufacturer?

Have fun breaking it in!

I have found over the years of smoking that if you run a pipe cleaner down the bit every couple of minutes while smoking it the after cool down
clean up is minimal.

Thats swanky, havent tried a pipe yet, well other than back in the eighties but we didnt have tobacco in it!

We called it a bowl back then!

I am not very savvy wrt pipes.

Does a Nording smoke any different than, say, a Savinelli?

Handmade pipes are like handmade cigars. Each manufacturer follows a basic plan and then adds their
own little touches to make it their own. Some smoke great and some smoke bad.

I have a Savinelli that smokes great and one that smokes rough.
I have a couple Petersons that smoke excellent.
This new Nording smokes like a champ!
My most expensive pipe is a Luigi Viprati 4 clover and it smokes mediocre.

That's one handsome pipe.  The benefit to pipe smoking is that you are only wasting a little tobacco if you get called away and have to put it down.  With a cigar, its either toss the remainder of it out, or if you don't, the re-light is never quite the same.

Enjoy that, Kyle!

I can't go back to briar, no matter how beautiful the carving. I find it too harsh. I use either hand-carved meerschaum from Turkey or a cheap corncob, both preferably with filters.

Now I'm thinking I'll have to try a Meerschaum. A local guy sells some cool looking ones.
