Churchill's Cigars, Tobacco & Gifts (Morehead City, NC, United States) Submitted by mhuss 8/9/2009 7:46:14 PM I found this store on my way to Atlantic Beach for vacation. I forgot my stash of smokes for the trip, so I had to stop by. I found a generous selection of top-notch smokes. They offer just about everything from Montecristo to Rocky Patel, Fuente to Cohiba. I did notice that they do not carry a few brands that we're all familiar with, like Gurkha and Don Pepin. The store features a small seating area just inside the door. Also just inside the front door is several glass cases full of gifts. From what I've seen, this is just about the only place to purchase decent smokes in the Atlantic Beach/Morehead City area.
The Angus Barn (Raleigh, NC, United States) Submitted by klamm143 3/23/2017 8:48:03 PM I hate to start off a recommendation by saying "google it" but there is too much for me to tell. This place "rules" and is located close to RDU International Airport. If you are ever passing thru Raleigh, NC you owe it to yourself to check out the many facilities, grounds and gift shoppe. It's a bit pricey and you can figure on spending 50 to 125 dollars per person if you do appetizers, drink a few, eat, and tip. EVERYTHING about this place is top notch but what really hooked me was THE MEAT LOCKER. An old meat locker area was converted into a smoke shop / smoke room that empties out onto a raised patio and complete with fire pit, dining areas, lounging areas, propane fire towers and more (catering mainly to smokers - particularly CIGAR GEEKS like us all. The restaurant dining facilities takes reservations, but the smoke area is first come first serve. You can utilize the smoke area without dining or you can eat in that area as well. A few of my friends and I try to go about once a month for a "smokers out night" so if you are within driving distance of Raleigh and want to join in, just let me know. If you are traveling thru and want to set up a "meet and greet smoke out" just let me know. Some of us will gladly "burn one or two" with you.
NOW-just so you know, I do not work for them nor have any connection with ownership. The Angus Barn has been a fixture in Raleigh - Durham for many many years. It's just one of those places that should be on the "bucket list". You can bring your own smokes or they have a small walk in humidor room that is well stocked with reasonable sticks up to some fine pricey stogies.
.....Hope you all can make it by there someday.....
Empire Cigars (Formerly Capital City Cigars) (raleigh, NC, United States) Submitted by gcbright 10/9/2014 7:43:03 AM Nice store, good selection, small lounge and lockers. The lockers are not numerous enough and the waiting list is tremendous.
JR's (Statesville, NC, United States) Submitted by Turboknat 4/8/2008 8:22:21 PM This is the largest cigar store I have ever visited. The whole cigar store is one large walk-in humidor. There are cigars everywhere, and many specials are displayed. JR's also creates numorous sample packs of famous brands, so if you are curious to try different types of a certain brand, this is a good way to go. They have a nice, albeit open lounge, with comfortable seating. Coffee is free. Plenty of magazines are there to read. The only bad thing is it tends to get alot of traveling transients, and not alot of regulars, so it is hard to develope smoking relationships with any regulars. The staff is very friendly. For the pipe lovers, they have a large variety of pipe tobacco. Also, this store is located inside a much larger store that sells everything from clothing to books, and souvanirs to guns. You know, like Walmart.

Not only can you enjoy a great cigar in a cozy lounge, but the wife can spend hours shopping in their huge discount store. There really is something for everyone here. Located right off the interstate, just look for the billboards, you cant miss them!
