Five Points Westside (Athens, GA, United States) Submitted by nwb 8/9/2009 10:09:52 AM This is one of the only places in Athens where you can find good cigars at a decent price. Although it is a liqour store (with a fine selection), they have a walk in humidor with a nice selection. They also have many hard to find cigars, but the prices for these tend to be a little higher than MSRP.

Owner is very knowledgable and friendly. However, there is no place to sit and relax while enjoying a cigar.

Hey Brothers, Just wanted to update you and let you know that I went back.Above the counter they have a no refund/no return policy. The wife brought that up, and the husband stated that he didn't know me and that i possibly could have done something to the cigar, and he wouldn't be comfortable putting it back in his humidor and reselling them. There were other unbanded cigars that had the same moldy look to them, and they both swore up and down that mold is blue or green. NOT WHITE!!! So his offer in compromise was to "Split it and give me a refund of 25.00" I paid 55 and some change and half would have been 27.50 but I just said Fugh It! I explained to him that I had over 1000.00 worth of boxes of cigars sitting out in my truck (that had just come in) and that I wasn't some petty NEWBIE smoker, but i opted to simply part ways and never go back. He gave me a beer, and a punch maduro rothschild to try and win me over as a remaining customer, but it's not going down.... So the cookie crumbles... You win some, you lose some!

Very extensive selection, but prices are on the high-end for the area. Lounge area in the back provides a nice place to sit and have a cigar while watching a big screen.

When I couldnt decide between an Oliva and a CAO he gave me one to try. Prices seem typical for what you would pay for singles in a shop. After all, he has to pay the rent somehow. Nice couches and flat screen to enjoy some hospitality and a smoke. Soda and water available. Convenient to I 85 near Chateau Elan.

Experiance "A Taste of the Good Life" Relax in our whole store leather-filled cherry walled smoking lounge. Enjoy a fine Cigar from our "Huge" walk-in humidor. Sit at the bar and sip on fine wine or select from over 1000 craft brewed beer's. Step out into our covered ourdoor patio -OR- settle down to watch your favourite team on our flat scren TV's. The stores now boast more than 800 facings of Premium Cigars, a Full Line of Pipe and Pipe Tobacco, not to mention more than 100 craft beers and a full wine list.

When I was a complete newbie, he turned me onto some great stuff and has advised me on things to try. My wife goes to him for every occasion now and he always gives her something that fits in with what I like. The lounge area is small, but you can sit down and have a smoke. Prices for singles are what you would expect, due to the overhead of the shop, I am sure. Give it a try.

In addition, they have an extensive collection and a lot of hard to find cigars. They also seem to receive new lines almost as soon as they come out. There is a nice seating area and free Wi-Fi.

Although the prices are higher than many of the local brick and mortars, the ambiance is great. The shop features a number of hard to find brands as well, and the owner is very knowledgeable.

You can barely move around, and there are boxes sitting upon boxes. However, they do have a lot of the elusive cigars. The owner does not know anything about cigars, and they prices are well above MSRP. There is no place to sit and enjoy, either.
Ole Stogie & Son Cigar Company (Lawrenceville, GA, United States) Submitted by nwb 9/22/2009 5:27:43 PM A nice establishment with a medium-sized walk-in humidor. Although the selection is somewhat limited, the owner and his son always make you feel more than welcome. The prices a fair, there is a nice lounge area, and the shop also features a nice dart area. In addition, they have a couple of events a week, from Pipe Night to Texas Hold Em.

In addition, there is a nice lounge area with seating and a flat panel television. The owner is knowledgeable, and they also receive new releases first in the area.
