This cigar was enjoyed with Water

Pre-Light: 18 Points of 20 Possible

This was a nice looking stick with a light chocolate (Colorado) wrapper, tight visible seams with minimal veins. It has a large double cap. The pre-light aroma was a nice tobacco with a hint of sweetness. The pre-light draw had a hint if sweetness with some resistance.

Light & Burn: 13 Points of 15 Possible

The larger cap made for an easy cut. The stick toasted up nicely and burned evenly for most of the stick. The initial ash held on for a about an inch. This trend held for the remainder of the smoke; although, a bit flaky. The burn line or “mascara” line was very small showing a well-aged wrapper. The cigar burned a little warm in the last third even after letting it rest between puffs, this effected the flavor a bit but overall it was still a nice smoke.

Construction: 29 Points of 30 Possible

The stick is very firm with zero defects. The draw was a little tight initially but opened up after the first third. After opening up it had a great smoke output. It maintained its firm and tight construction to the nub.

Flavor: 29 Points of 35 Possible

In the first few puffs I got hit with that tobacco sweetness I picked up on the cold draw. I was picking up a graham cracker and creamy flavor that died out after the first half inch or so. It transitioned to a mild earthiness with hints of leather and the natural tobacco in the background. I picked up some raisin or similar fruit in the second third. There is a small hint of pepper that definitely stands out on the retrohale especially into the last third. This profile remained to the nub.

Summary

After receiving the Olman a little over two weeks ago, I left the stick at 65% RH until I pulled it out to smoke. It was a flavorable medium body/strength cigar. I enjoyed it with water only. Total burn time was right at an hour. This is a very enjoyable smoke and I can’t wait to try the other vitolas.
