This cigar was enjoyed with Topo Chico mineral water

Pre-Light: 19 Points of 10 Possible

A nice, reddish brown wrapper, slightly dry, with a couple of veins, but nothing major. Triple cap is applied perfectly, and the cigar gives just a bit when pinched. Aroma off of the foot is semi sweet tobacco, and a touch of hay. V cut the head with no issues, and the cold draw was nice n rich tobacco, with no resistance, and hint of sweet sugar.

Light & Burn: 12 Points of 15 Possible

The burn was a bit wonky, but not too bad, except at the last inch, where it had a spot that would not burn without some help. The ash held good, but that was after the first ash, which was a bit flaky. The color was a nice black/gray/white stripping. Burn was slow, and it took me over 2 hours to smoke. I had to re-light a couple of times at the end. Smoke volume was outstanding, with big, thick clouds of billowing smoke flying everywhere.

Construction: 28 Points of 30 Possible

The draw was perfect, with just a bit of resistance, and the smoke output was great! Tons of smoke, without drawing too easy. The wrapper and cap were both well applied, and the two veins that showed did not affect the burn at all. I love the 11/18 roll, it is one of the best out there in my opinion. And the band is simply amazing. Simple, but strong.

Flavor: 33 Points of 45 Possible

The first couple of puffs gave me a big, quick blast of pepper, and after that, it just vanished. I then got a nice, bitter caramel, honey, and rich tobacco that had a sweetness to it, along with just a tiny bit of cocoa. This was a great start! The second third was the same, but the honey died down a bit, but the smoke was still sweet, and a nice creamy texture came in. The creaminess was very profound, and was simply amazing to me. It really made all the other flavors shine. The cigar finished with a strong black coffee, just a touch of cream with the caramel and cocoa showing up in the background. There was a slight bitterness towards the end, but it was very tolerable with everything else that was going on. The entire first half of the cigar was a medium/medium full, but the second half slowly but surely kept getting stronger, and finished as a full bodied smoke all the way around. It was a very complex flavor profile, and all the flavors mixed extremely well together. The aroma was sweet, and very attractive to the senses, and the retrohale was nice, with hardly any burn at all.

Summary

WOW! What a fantastic smoke! The only reason I took points off for the flavor was that I felt the bitterness in the end was due to not enough age on the cigar. In 6 months or so, this will be a near perfect stick, in my humble opinion. The smoke output and draw were perfect in every which way. The burn was a bit off, but I think that is due to needing more rest as well. Overall, this is a top notch cigar, and Camacho has knocked this years version of the Liberty right out of the park! WOW!! I am looking forward to smoking this one again. Impressive cigar...WOW!!
