This cigar was enjoyed with None

Pre-Light: 15 Points of 10 Possible

The stick had a solid feel to it and seemed well filled.I noticed the cap was separating from the head of the cigar. No soft spots detected anywhere. There was an oily sheen on the wrapper with a few very small veins.A solid maduro in color with and earthy/fresh mint aroma. The cap fell off before completing my cut with a Palio.

Light & Burn: 13 Points of 15 Possible

The stick lit evenly and burned with a wave but did not require any touch-ups.The ash remained a white/grey color and held strongly. It produced an ample amount of smoke and burned slowly over all. and never got bitter or sour.

Construction: 20 Points of 30 Possible

The cap was not applied well at all resulting in it falling off while cutting. The stick was near seamless. The stick never got soft during the duration of the smoke and the draw was perfect throughout.

Flavor: 22 Points of 45 Possible

The stick was medium to full in body. The first third were tastes of black pepper, earth and coffee beans. The mid's were oak and cream with a little spice. The last third was leather, oak and spice to the finish.

Summary

I enjoyed the full flavors in first third and was hoping for this to gain more ground but the mid's were stagnant and did not go anywhere and did not regain my interest even to the finish.Maybe some more nap time will open this stick up more.
